How to rent a car in the Netherlands

In order to rent a car in the Netherlands, all drivers (including additional drivers) must hold and produce the following: 

 

– A driver’s license valid in the country where the rental takes place that has been held for at least one year

– Valid identity card or passport

– Valid credit card in the renter’s name  

 

 

Do you need an international driver’s license to drive in the Netherlands?

You will need an international driver’s license (IDL) if the following apply:
