Proper preparation

After your registration has been received, we will contact you. We will get to know each other in that conversation. We will then make a (digital) appointment for a second meeting. In the second meeting we will zoom in on your wishes and our possibilities. To be able and allowed to work in the Netherlands, you need to think about a number of things. We will ask you questions, such as:

  • What kind of job suits you?
  • When do you want to go to the Netherlands?
  • Do you want to go to the Netherlands alone or with someone?
  • How long do you want to work in the Netherlands?
  • How do you go to the Netherlands?
  • Where will you live during your stay in the Netherlands?

Based on your answers to these and other questions, we will give you personal advice. This advice consists of a job offer and additional services that we can offer you. NL Jobs offers you more than just a job. Below we will tell you more about our services.

Transport to the Netherlands

Before you can start working in the Netherlands, you have to arrive there safely. NL Jobs has various collaborations with transport companies throughout Europe. We give you the opportunity to book a one-way or return trip through us. It is also possible to come to the Netherlands with your own transport (car/airplane). We will agree with you on which day you leave for the Netherlands. This way our colleagues in the Netherlands can prepare themselves for your arrival. Because we think it is important to welcome you personally in the Netherlands!

Documents to be able to work

The most important document to be able to work in the Netherlands is your European passport or ID card. Already during your trip to the Netherlands, you will need this. But during your work you have to carry these with you, so you can always identify yourself. This is the only document you need to take care of yourself. NL Jobs will help you arrange all other necessary documents.

Contract
Your employment contract is prepared by NL Jobs. As soon as you arrive in the Netherlands and we have welcomed you, we will go through it. The contract is available in your own language, so that you understand what you agree with. In addition to the contract, there are a number of other documents that we will present to you. Together these documents form your personnel file. They are clear agreements (such as your salary) about our collaboration.

BSN/SOFI
Everyone who lives and works in the Netherlands must be in possession of a citizen service number. This personal number, also called BSN/SOFI, is provided by the municipality. NL Jobs will make appointments with the municipality in which you will be working. This allows you to visit the municipality shortly after your arrival in the Netherlands. NL Jobs ensures that the municipality is already aware of your arrival. By showing your passport/ID you only have to pick up the BSN.

Dutch health insurance
Everyone living in the Netherlands must have Dutch health insurance. NL Jobs needs proof of this in your file. This insurance covers any costs you may incur when you unexpectedly become ill. NL Jobs has a partnership with a major Dutch insurer. So we can apply for a group health insurance directly. The costs for the HollandZorg health insurance are €28.14 per week. You can also choose to take your own health insurance.

European bank account
Your salary is paid weekly by NL Jobs. This is done by bank transfer. It is therefore mandatory to have a European bank account. Preferably this is a Dutch bank account.
As soon as all the above documents are in order, we can pay you.

Housing

Of course it is nice to have a place in the Netherlands that you can call ‘home’. However, renting or buying a house in the Netherlands is quite complicated. Moreover, the costs of houses in the Netherlands are very high at the moment. That is why NL Jobs offers you the possibility to rent a room. NL Jobs works together with NL Realty. NL Realty manages several residential locations. These are hotels, apartments, houses and guesthouses. All residential locations meet an SNF quality mark. SNF stands for ‘Stichting Normering Flexwonen’. This organisation checks all residential locations on certain requirements annually. For example, all residential locations need to be furnished and there need to be a stable internet connection. There are also facilities for hygiene and safety.
The planning of NL Jobs takes into account the distance between home and work. You will therefore be assigned a residential location as close to work as possible. Furthermore, your personal preferences will be taken into account as much as possible.
If you want to make use of this option, we’ll sign a rental agreement. Rental costs of a room are €101,85- per week. This amount will be deducted from your salary. You can also choose to provide accommodation yourself.

Transportation in the Netherlands

The Netherlands is relatively small, so travel distances are usually short. Moreover, the Netherlands has a good infrastructure. For commuting, NL Jobs uses bicycles, cars and buses. If you live very close to your work location, you can even walk to work. You can also choose to make use of a bicycle. For employees who live a little further from their work location, we offer transport by car. If you do not have a driver’s license, we will arrange for you to be picked up and brought home.
If you have a valid driver’s license you can drive a car of NL Jobs. If you take a few colleagues to work, you will also receive compensation for this. This fee amounts to €2,- per working day. Drivers can also choose to use the car privately. As soon as you drive more than 500 kilometres per year privately, you will have to pay tax for this. This is called the additional taxable benefit scheme.
NL Jobs uses Opel Corsa’s & Opel Carl’s. There are no costs associated with commuting.

Planning

Your daily planning can be found in a smartphone application. This app has been developed by Plan4Flex. Login details for this app and an instruction will be given before you arrive in the Netherlands. With this app you have insight into your planning anytime, anywhere. In the app you will also find pay slips and your personnel file. The app also gives you the opportunity to chat with us.
Our planning tries to schedule you as many hours a week as possible. This is done in consultation with the company where you work. If you are temporarily unavailable for work, you should take a holiday.

Personal guidance

We think it’s important that you’re well informed. Both in the period that you are not yet working for us, and in the period in the Netherlands. As long as you have not yet signed your contract, you can contact our recruiters. They are ready to answer all your questions. As soon as you arrive in the Netherlands for the first time you will be welcomed by our arrival team. They will help you on your way in the Netherlands by telling you all sorts of things. From the moment you start working, you can contact our helpdesk. The helpdesk is a team of committed colleagues who speak your language. They are trained to communicate with you in a timely, friendly and knowledgeable manner. This can be done by phone, e-mail or via the P4F app. You can contact the helpdesk for anything. There is also an emergency number available outside working hours and at weekends. You can reach this number 24/7, but only in emergencies
